Bravo! You made it!!

If relaxation is a ‘force you reckon with’ because as educators we are almost always inclined to productivity, we have news for you. 'Downtime' is productivity too, khalas! So, in this newsletter, you will explore articles with ideas on how to just chill [sic]. You were fully immersed in the 'trenches' and really deserve to treat yourself. And we are here as always to support you😊

Thank you all once again for being a part of the Foundation's Professional Development Program. We are looking forward to seeing you all in the next Academic Year.

Unplug and get down on it- your vacation!

Warm regards,
RAKTN

After months of lesson planning, grading papers, and covering lessons due to whatever reasons, we hope that you are savouring the Summer vacation/holidays just as much as students. If you need a check list to acquaint yourself with what it means to chill [sic] fret not, 'borrow some leaves' from here https://www.citeprograms.com/teacher-summer-break/.This article just hit the bullseye https://www.boredteachers.com/post/heres-what-summer-vacation-really-looks-like-for-many-teachers. And are you aware that there are teachers laughing themselves away through the summer holidays? Learn more here https://www.boredteachers.com/comedy-tour#summer_shows. In case you aren’t within the tour zip codes, how about visiting any comedy shows within your vicinity? Just FYI [sic], this is what other teachers are up to when they are off duty https://www.teachersoffduty.com/. Shopping could be another fun activity now that time isn’t an issue. Splurge on yourself and it doesn’t have to cost ‘an arm and a leg’ to look professional, here’s a link if you appreciate shopping on a budget https://www.boredteachers.com/post/teacher-style-box-free.

Our local Artscape still has activities although they are slowly winding down. If you fancy theatre or want to improve your improv skills visit https://courtyardplayhouse.com/events/ and for other events https://magpie.ae/ will be a go-to if you are doing a staycation [sic] for a lineup of events around the UAE including Travor Noah’s show https://magpie.ae/event/trevor-noah-off-the-record/.

We knowww [sic], you are welcome😊.

Remember to make plenty of time to enjoy yourself. We cannot reiterate this enough!

And for the 'outliers' this summer (and rightly so, this could be your only free/available time for personal professional development- when you determine your learning, we applaud your efforts), for more details on previous course recordings, visit https://raktn.org/.

As expected, our sections are almost empty. The Q3 newsletter will be out in September with announcements that you will be pleased to learn about and participate in.

See you soon!
