This course is designed for all teachers in the UAE. Led by Faisal Ali, a CompTIA Security+ certified Computer Science Educator, the programme aims to equip staff with practical strategies to manage their own digital load and proactively foster digital wellbeing and cybersecurity for their pupils. The curriculum blends key theoretical knowledge, including relevant UAE laws and the psychological impacts of technology on the end users, with hands-on, collaborative activities like threat modelling and digital self-audits. By focusing on mental health challenges and digital risk, the course moves beyond basic tech use to empower teachers to build digitally resilient mind-sets and advocate for a safer, more balanced digital culture across the school and the wider community. After completing this course, participants should be able to:
- Develop and implement personal Digital Wellbeing strategies.
- Apply principles from the CompTIA Security+ certification to analyse and mitigate digital risks.
- Identify and articulate how persuasive technology design contributes to anxiety, social comparison, and FOMO in students and adults.
- Implement secure and appropriate protocols for incident response to online harm.
- Design and integrate digital wellbeing, literacy, and security concepts into their respective subject curricula.
