Fostering Future Innovators

This professional development series, Fostering Future Innovators, equips teachers to nurture curiosity, creativity, and innovation in their classrooms. Through five interactive and research-informed workshops, educators will learn how to integrate inquiry-based learning, design thinking, AI literacy, and growth mindset principles into everyday teaching. Participants will explore how to empower students as creative problem-solvers who can adapt to an evolving world. After completing this course, participants should be able to:

  • Design inquiry-based and innovation-focused lessons.
  • Apply design thinking and AI tools to enhance engagement and creativity.
  • Strengthen students’ collaboration, critical thinking, and adaptability.
  • Foster growth mindsets and emotional resilience in learners.
  • Integrate ethical, purposeful technology use into teaching.

Eligibility
This series is designed for K–12 teachers, curriculum leaders, inclusion coordinators, and innovation specialists who aim to foster creativity, collaboration, and digital readiness in their classrooms. It will also benefit educators integrating STEAM and project-based learning.

About Instructor

Mireille Tannous

Ms. Mireille Tannous is a passionate educator and business studies specialist with over ten years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and curriculum innovation across the UAE and Kuwait. She holds a Master of Science in Accounting from the American University of Sharjah and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the American University of Kuwait. At Al Mawakeb School – Garhoud, Mireille leads high school programs in Business Management and Social Studies/Political science, integrating entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and design thinking to prepare students as innovative and socially responsible thinkers. She has conducted workshops on design thinking and AI-powered entrepreneurship, and played a key role in facilitating orientation week training sessions for teachers, mentoring new faculty in creative and collaborative practices. Mireille has coached students in national innovation competitions, including the Curtin University–DEWA Business Cup Challenge, and organized the school’s Shark Tank Challenge event, fostering creativity, confidence, and real-world problem-solving among learners. As a NEASC design team member, she continues to champion purposeful, future-ready education that nurtures innovation, empathy, and lifelong learning.
