Educational Technology for Students of Determination

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the distance learning model has put even more strain on teachers to tailor learning to Students of Determinations’ needs.

This five-week course is a task-based course which will guide participants to design and adapt online material, activities and strategies that will suit learning needs of various Students of Determination. All tasks will be directly linked to the school curricula as well as the IEP. Therefore, participants are requested to have their current textbooks/teacher guides /IPs handy or to the course during an in-person session. This course is focused on practical 21st century skills, technology and methodology, to suit our students’ needs, while enabling each one of them reach their fullest potential in school as they grow into adulthood and prepare them for the future as active and contributing citizens of the UAE.

Participants will be given practical tasks/ assignments at the end of every session to be completed at school, based on the session content.

After completing this course, participants should be able to:

• Demonstrate understanding various special needs within our classrooms
• Modify content by using suitable technology
• Plan, apply and develop online materials to suit each student’s Individual Education Plan based on their diagnoses

Eligibility
All school leaders and educators in Ras Al Khaimah schools are eligible.

Mode of Delivery
This Virtual Training course is bilingual, delivered in Arabic and English.
