Space Across the Curriculum

Fedaa Saeed · September 3, 2023

The Center for Innovation and Education under The Space Foundation develops and delivers inclusive, innovative, and sustainable workforce and economic development initiatives for the space industry through space-inspired education, lifelong learning, and improved skills and interest in STEM. It supports teachers and students with standards-based curriculum that uses space principles to integrate STEM into all content areas.

This six-week course will include:

  • Content Focused Curriculum Workshops
Immersive training on 10-15 lesson plans focused on STEM subjects giving teachers hands-on activities to excite students about the wonders of space and pursuing a STEM career. Activities on rocketry, astronomy, robotics, and more are easily transferable to the classroom, and provide teachers with materials and strategies to share with their school.
  • E-Learning Tools Workshops
Focuses on training educators on how to use engaging and educational technology, virtual tools, and web-based platforms to increase student engagement and impact.
  • Project-Based Learning (PBL) Workshops
Instructs educators on how to incorporate PBL strategies within their classroom. PBL helps students identify connections between their studies and the real world by gaining knowledge and skills necessary to investigate and respond to an authentic, immersive, and complex challenge.
